Europa G-BXHY at the club (IanG)

Still in this morning 09:15 is Europa G-BXHY parked at the club, the aircraft diverted in last night due to bad weather at Haverfordwest ...departed 12:29

Transients

Northbound c09:00 was PA-31 N3586D routing Exmoor-Brecon

In a racetrack pattern at 17:40 over the Bristol Channel at FL100 is "ISF44WS" 216 Sqn Tristar KC.1 ZD950. This had an engine problem soon after take-off from Brize Norton and is on two engines, it will be dumping fuel for 40 minutes before returning to Brize.

Noted outside at 09:15 was Boeing 772 G-YMMP ...engine running 09:45

Due in at 17:25 from LHR is "BA9180" B772 G-YMMI ..landed 17:24

Due out at 19:00 to LHR is "BA9181" B772 G-YMMP ..aborted take-off 19:52 ..departed 20:14

Landing at 10:12 is Britten-Norman Group Islander G-BDZI ..departed 14:29 to Bembridge ..still in Belgian Army scheme

Inbound at 10:30 is an AAC Islander "AA598" ..landed 10:53

Inbound from Benson 11:10 is a 33Sqdn Puma HC.1 ZJ954/- c/s "Vortex 362" ..landed 11:23 ..departed 12:19 to Benson via overhead Maendy Barracks

Landing 12:28 is 1 Flight Islander AL.1 ZG846/- c/s "AA585" ..departed 13:52 to Glasgow

Departing at 16:05 on airtest is "Vectis 1" Islander ASTOR (ZG989) ..landed 16:52

Taxying out at 17:25 is "Ascot 855" VC-10 C.1K XV105/- in the Anniversary scheme ..departed 17:47 to Filton

MOD St Athan Information - EGSY 07/25

To spot here you're best off taking the B4265 St Athan to Llantwit Major road. From here you will see a railway bridge that leads to a paved track that runs along the fence and runway. This track leads to an unmanned entrance gate and is under CCTV surveillance. If you use this track, please park at the far end, not on the verges, as it is used by wide farm vehicles and delivery lorries. All a/c in outside storage can be seen from the bridge itself. The track can also be accessed via St Athan village via Llantwit Road opposite the Church. To view the Caerdav hangar (Twin Peaks) and scrapping area continue westbound along the B4265, past the West Gate entrance and turn right at the traffic lights. Follow this road to the T-junction and turn right onto the new road. The entrance road to the South Wales Aviation Museum is left at the next traffic lights, views can also be had from here as it's the only convenient stopping place. Be aware there are regular Security and Police patrols around the airfield and you may be stopped and questioned.
